WHEN AND WHERE TO MEET YOUR GUIDES
You will meet your guides and the rest of the team on April 4th at our Airbnb in Dalvik, Iceland. Most red-eye flights arrive around 5AM into Keflavik Airport. There are many rental car options just a short shuttle ride from the airport. The drive to Dalvik is approximately 5 hours. You should plan to arrive into Dalvik and our Airbnb by 3PM as there will be much to get organized before our first day of touring. We will conduct a full gear check, have a full team briefing and allow time for dinner. Lodging throughout the itinerary below is included. Lodging will be double occupancy.
Once we have a finalized roster, we will share email addresses so that you are able to coordinate ride sharing to Dalvik.
*It is also possible to fly in and out of Akureyi (30 minutes South of Dalvik).
ITINERARY
April 3 – Red Eye flight to Kelflavik Airport (KEF).
April 4 – Arrival into Keflavik. Grab your rental car and drive North to Dalvik. Meet your team by 3PM at the Airbnb. Gear Check, Briefing, Grocery Shopping.

*Alterations to the above itinerary may be made based on weather and snow conditions as well as the desires of the group. Requests for sightseeing and hot springs will be accommodated.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Please wear synthetic materials such as wool, polyester, goose down, and tech wick. NO COTTON. We recommend that you layer your clothing so you can manage your body temperature appropriately. A proper ski touring backpack, helmet, beacon probe and shovel are all mandatory items. Please refer to the gear list on the right for a full list. Should you need to rent any gear, we ask that you do that via this website well in advance so we can plan to bring that gear with us.
We will provide first aid kits, radio communications, ropes and other technical equipment as needed.
We do not provide food. Please plan to bring your own food for your adventure. There will be plenty of opportunity to experience the local cuisine and/or cook at the Airbnb.
As with all international adventures, we highly recommend Global Rescue Insurance to protect yourself and your trip. Travel insurance is also highly recommended.
GRATUITIES and OTHER COSTS
Our guides are highly trained and have logged countless hours in the backcountry gaining the experience and knowledge it requires to become a guide for NEM. A typical gratuity for a job well done is 20% or $20pp/guide/day.
